In February 2021, a GEPS installation has been carried out at Koma Country Club in Japan, which makes it the first installation on a golf course in Asia.
Designed by the legendary Gary Player and opened in 1980, the Koma Country Club is a 27-hole membership course and has hosted several events on the JGTO including the Japan PGA Championship and the Kansai Open. It is located near the city of Nara.
The installation was done to improve water infiltration in an area south of Hole Nr.9. It is an important first step to demonstrate the huge potential of GEPS for the golfing industry in Japan. We salute the innovative spirit of Koma Country Club’s leadership in being a pioneer in Japan by using GEPS.
