Our second trip to California in May 2019 was a complete success, utilizing HAZL to install multiple NEPS projects all over the southern half of the state. The first part of the trip started with a collaboration with a leading southern California University. This study will measure the impact of NEPS on 24 avocado trees and 29 date palm trees at two of the university’s research centers. Each tree will have its fruit, soil and leaves tested yearly and compared to an adjacent control site without NEPS.
The second part of the trip consisted of an installation for an orange and almond grower in California’s central valley. Outfitting 25 orange trees and 45 almond trees (Monterey and Nonpareil) with NEPS. Adding one new farmer to our list of recognized NEPS Growers and three new species to our ever-growing list of NEPS treated trees.
“This was a great experience, installing NEPS in all different types of soil.” Said Frank Muller Exlterra CEO, “In the Coachella Valley, we experienced temperatures of more than 105 degrees and HAZL delivered seamlessly, demonstrating again the versatility of our machine.”
